SWAG Program

Student Working to Achieve Greatness

As a community partner with the Village of Wellington, The Crowned Pearls of Wellington, Inc. (CPW) administers the village’s SWAG program in collaboration with Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Alpha Alpha Upsilon Omega Chapter. The Village awarded the Foundation a grant to administer the year-round program which is designed to help empower and motivate at-risk and under-served high school students in order to overcome social and economic barriers that impact their quality of life. The CPW Foundation raises additional funding to support the SWAG program.

The primary objective of SWAG is to prepare high school students for future success by providing personal and professional development opportunities. Through SWAG, students are prepared for post-secondary education, trade schools, or entry-level professional success. Students for the SWAG Program are recruited from Wellington and Palm Beach Central High Schools.

The program includes:

  • In school bi-weekly workshops addressing topics such as: character development, financial management, and workforce development.
  • Paid eight (8) week summer internship to provide the students an opportunity to apply the skills they have acquired through the program's workshops and mentoring sessions.
